I didn't start playing until my early forties, and at the time i wondered how the hell i was supposed to change chords, it seemed impossible, but i promise you, with practice you will be fine. give it time, keep plugging away, and it will happen, then you will wonder why you ever missed them in the first place.
Muscle memory is the key, build up the muscle memory with lots of SLOW practice, and you will be changing chords no problem.

Allan,
Everything that KEITH said...
ALSO do not take all your fingers off of the fretboard before changing chords...Sometimes you might need to only reposition one finger to make the next chord... Going from OPEN C CHORD to an OPEN A MINOR chord is an example where you would only move your third finger and that would be it...
BUZZING is sometimes caused because you have you FINGERS positioned in the MIDDLE OF THE FRET...Reposition your fingers CLOSER to the FRETS and that MIGHT HELP...
Good Luck,
Vernon
