Everyone has terrific advice and suggestions, not to worry - I don't!!

I too was a bit older when I first started playing. I had a few songs that I liked that were basic 3 or 4 chord songs all in open positions and I would sit there playing them over and over again. I remember having to place each finger on the proper string to form the chord... I don't know how it happened, or how long it too - I just remember that one day my fingers were all hitting the right strings all at the same time.

Like everyone says - it's just a matter of time and practice...

I have been practicing for around six months now. I am finding that my fingers are slightly better at moving on the fretboard. I have noticed that the strings don't buzz as much now as my fingers strengthen.

For me the biggest obstacle is time to practice in my daily routine. I just practice when I can and see where it takes me.

I have started to practice techniques whilst watching tv to help build my muscle memory and it is a great way to relax and practice. Luckily I have an understanding partner and she doesn't mind the racket. This makes time less of an obstacle for me and even though I have only recently started this I am already making much quicker progress.
